Rutgers Golf Course is a university course. It is not long overall, yet it does have some long, challenging holes in the front and the back nine. Various types of pine trees surround course fairways, and some tee boxes may have overhanging trees affecting the ball flight trajectory. A small creek runs on the back nine, yet the rest of the course is waterless.

It is tough to find a flat spot on the greens, and depending on the flag, it might not be so easy to stick it close. Also, knowing where to hit and how to roll the ball on the green might require a couple of rounds. Overall, this course provides excellent impressions and has a complete practice facility. Bonus points for tee box stone signs and decorative tees.
