Affordable challenging course with a natural cenote
Bahia Golf Club Course is part of the Bahia Resort, located about an hour drive from Cancun and about 20 minutes away from Tulum. You should be able to get onto the course even if you not a guest of Bahia resort. For resort guests, they have very nicely priced golf packages.
The golf club has rental clubs, an executive par-3 9-hole course, and a beautiful practice facility. Perhaps the track's jewel is a natural cenote that comes into play on the second shot when approaching the green. You can see many beautiful various sized iguanas lying around watching your golf strokes. You may also encounter other wildlife such as alligators.
Bahia is not an easy course if you cannot keep the ball on the fairway. The fairways are on a broader side but run off fast either into the water or bushes, and there is no tall grass to stop the ball. Some greens are hard to approach due to their layout, hazards such as cenote or water. On the positive side, if you are a pro and hit the ball straight, this would be a fun course to play, especially from the tips giving you a chance to test your skills from over 7K yards deep. Bonus points for a natural cenote on the course and overall course distance.
