A Hilly Course With A Tall "Flag Stick"
This course is situated few minutes off of the scenic Palisades parkway, so it is easy to access. Just a few exits away from the Bear Mountain State Park. The front nine has no water and starts you off as an excellent way to warm up before several challenging holes with water on the back nine. The greens could be a bit faster, and some fairways could use a cart path.
Almost from every hole on the course, you can see a massive American flag situated on a super tall pole, making this course very special. Few spots have dramatic elevations, so proper club selection is essential. The course is pretty quiet, with occasional noise from the parkway on only a couple of holes.
Various types of trees may get in the way of few shots, but nothing absurd. It might be tough to play this course during high winds due to changing elevations. Overall, it is a decent course from the tips and reasonably priced.
Lookout for same colored pin flags - red - making it seem like the flag is up front.
Bonus points for the massive American flag on the hill, charming cart path bridges, and water fountains.
